On the evening of June 23, 2020, the 4th "The Future Civil Engineers" academic contest organized by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (HCMUTE) Faculty of Civil Engineering took place at the Main Hall. After three previous events, the competition this year has made a more thoughtful preparation, fine-tuned the format and has attracted more than 30 teams from 8 universities in Binh Duong and Thanh. Ho Chi Minh City.

The contest was honored to welcome Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen - Chairman of the School Council, the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering from HCMUTE and other regional universities. In addition, the audience from other HCMUTE departments, students as well as representatives from construction companies add up to more than 1,000 people.
The academic contest "The Future Civil Engineers" was held with the desire to bring about a  playground that allow students to exchange, learn knowledge in the field of construction and gain practical experiences. This also gives students a comprehensive view of the present construction industry.
The key change in the format is the incorporation of tasks involving structural design software. Out of more than 30 teams, the competition has selected the 4 best teams to participate in the finale of "The Future Civil Engineers" Season 4, 2020.
Participants would have the opportunity to experience the dramatic and exciting rounds from the "Together" to "Handling the situation" tasks and finally "Project Presentation" to demonstrate their public speaking skill and the knowledge in specialized topics such as mechanics, structures, engineering geology, foundations, surveyors, safety in construction, ...
The teams are eager to take part in challenges in the competition

"The Future Civil Engineers" is a meaningful academic competition which attracts a large number of students to participate. Participating teams will be assisted by teachers in the Advisory Board to create architectural models, structural plans and finishing works for the project using specialized computer software in construction.
At the end of the competition, the teams had the chance to demonstrate their stage charisma. The best teams are awarded in various categories as follows.  The most favorite model award:  FCE Youth team - University of Technology and Training, Ho Chi Minh City Ho Chi Minh City.

  • Third prize : FCE Youth team - HCMUTE 
  • Second prize: UTC 2 Forward team - University of Transport, Ho Chi Minh City branch
  • First prize: NHHAD team - HCMUTE

The academic contest "The Future Civil Engineers" create many opportunities for Civil Engineering students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education as well as other universities in the region to exchange theoretical knowledge and practical skill. As a result, students can have "good knowledge, strong skills" and meet the needs of potential employers.
