Along with the strong development of the country, the demand for transport infrastructure development is inevitable. Metro routes, highways, road tunnels ... are increasingly developed. With the current requirements of high-quality human resources, well-trained in transport infrastructure and approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Faculty of Construction has opened a new industry, which is Infrastructure Management and Operation.
On March 9, 2021, at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, there was a session "Evaluation Committee for Infrastructure Engineering and Management" took place. The Council consists of lecturers and experts in this field including Associate Professor. Tran Quang Phu (Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport), Assoc. Chu Cong Minh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology), PhD. Nguyen Dinh Hung (International University - National University Ho Chi Minh City), PhD. Do Tien Tho (HCMC University of Science and Technology), MSc. Vo Minh Huy (representative of Deo Ca Group).
The report on the open program University Degree in Infrastructure Management and Operation includes the following main contents:
a) The necessity and basis of opening the major in Infrastructure Management and Operation,
b) The capacity of the training institution is in accordance with the Circular No. 22/2017 / TT-BGDĐT dated September 6, 2017 of the Ministry of Education and Training,
c) Training programs and plans of the sector:
- The training sector is oriented to include 2 areas: construction investment management and infrastructure operation and exploitation;
- The total amount of knowledge of the training program: 150 credits, including general education knowledge (with 62 credits) and specialized knowledge (88 credits);
- Training time: 4.0 years, arranged into 08 semesters;
- Develop a full detailed outline of the modules in the training program;
4-credit graduate practice, 7-credit graduation thesis.
After listening to the report, the Appraisal Council has conducted criticism and comments; The drafting board of the project also explains and clarifies the remaining issues in the spirit of demand, listen and seriously absorb the opinions of the Council members. The conclusion of the meeting is that the Training Program has met the requirements of opening the training sector, but the Project Drafting Board should consider completing the dossier according to the comments of the Appraisal Council. This is the basis for Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education to implement the next steps for enrollment in Infrastructure Management and Operation in the academic year 2021-2022.
